Fessej Rock

Fessej Rock also known as “Black rock” is a rock rising about 15 m above the water level and lying approximately 350 m south-east of Il-Kantra south of Mgarr Harbour. The dive is the circumnavigation around the rock along a wall which is dominated by huge boulders and swimthroughs.

Fessej Rock The Dive

Fessej Rock offers an exciting diving experience for both Open Water and advanced divers. You can choose to descend gradually to your desired depth and then spiral around the rock as you ascend, making for a fun and engaging dive.

Black Rock Aquatic Life

Next to the boulder-shaped wall, divers often encounter predatory fish such as dentex, barracuda, and tuna. In addition to these larger species, the area is teeming with common marine life, including Painted Combers, tube worms, seahorses, Coris julis (Mediterranean Rainbow Wrasse), and the occasional common octopus hiding among the rocky outcrops.
